Change in Grading Process
Due to changes in state reporting requirements, we are now reporting cumulative semester grades at the middle school level. Students will still receive quarter grades but their final, cumulative grade will be reported as a semester grade and will represent a running total of points accumulated first and second quarter. This is aligned with the practices at the high schools. Additionally, athletic eligibility and transfer grades are cumulative in nature so the change in our grading practice aligns with those reporting requirements as well.
Since grades are cumulative for the semester, we will no longer have an honor roll for each quarter of the school year like we have done in the past. Rather, we will have a Semester 1 honor roll and a Semester 2 honor roll.
The sign-up sheet is on the door of the Art Room (Room 119). You may sign up through Friday, October 31st. Information about times and days for the meetings will be forthcoming. If you have questions, please see Ms. Ferrenburg in Room 118.
CJHS Girls’ Basketball would like to extend an invitation to elementary students in our feeder schools to attend a “Pack the Place” night. Students from the featured school may attend the game for FREE on the following afternoons, beginning at 4:30. Monday, October 20, Grove Gators; Monday, October 27, Hoose Hawks; Tuesday, November 18, Fairview Falcons. Hope to see you there!
Best-selling and well-loved author Neal Shusterman will be visiting CJHS and speaking to all students about his books and writing process. All literature teachers will be using his books in class to prepare for the visit. Mr. Shusterman will autograph books for students after his presentations.
Each year, volunteers must "register" online, even if they volunteered the previous year. Please click the link above for information about the volunteer registration process.
