US History:
This course is required for graduation from high school. Students will study two major themes each semester. During the first semester students will study the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. During first semester students will take the Constitution test. The second theme builds on the Constitution examining social change and the quest for equality. During the second semester students will study the theme of migration and immigration in American history. Students will also examine the theme of U.S. involvement in American foreign policy, wars and conflicts. As students study these themes, they examine important historical, constitutional, and ethical issues related to each topic.
Psychology:
Have you ever wondered why you do the things you do? If so, as a student of psychology, you will develop the knowledge and skills to explore/analyze this question and others related to lifespan development, personality, sensation, perception, and psychological disorders to gain an understanding of the complexities of human thought and behavior.
AP Psychology:
This college level course introduces the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. Included is a consideration of the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields within psychology. Students also learn about the ethics and methods psychologists use in their science and practice. Course is designed to help students prepare for the College Board exam given in May.
